Hosterman was elected Mayor of Pleasanton in November of 2004, and was the first woman in the city’s history to fill that office. She was first elected to the City Council in 2002, and since that time has emerged as a true leader in the city of Pleasanton.
A native Californian and a 20 year Pleasanton resident, Hosterman and her husband, Michael, a prominent local attorney operating his own practice in downtown Pleasanton, have been married since 1980. Their three daughters, Heather, Sarah, and Megan attended Pleasanton schools and have embarked on their college careers. Hosterman enjoys outdoor activities, cooking, and spending time with her family when not participating in civic affairs.
